100 Men

die by suicide every day in the United States.

I GREW UP

I grew up a sensitive kid with a crippling stutter. My family was…complex. As a man, ‘sensitive’ didn’t feel like it was an option. So, I built a castle of protection through a tough exterior and defined my worth through external success, as the world told me I should

  • 47% of men reported being told that "boys don't cry"

FOR

YEARS

For years I battled with depression, addiction, lying and cheating, burnout, and suicidal ideation. I needed to make more money, have more sex, and perform for larger crowds. The more I got, the worse I felt. I made sure I appeared to have it all together, but feeling like I was just one step away from exploding…or drowning.

Men are 4x more likely

than women to die by suicide.

I’M GOOD

If you were to ask me how I was doing for most of my life, I would reply with, “I'm good”.  I was receiving criticism for who I was becoming, but very little advice of what to do or where to go. My girlfriend at the time offered to search for therapist if I agreed to go.

I did.

For the next 5 years I fought to find ways to recreate the man I am and realized how little resources and voices existed for other men to do the same.

So where are men supposed to go?

  • 6 million men are affected by depression in the United States every year

  • 40 % of men report having never talked to anyone about their mental health

  • 29% saying they're "too embarrassed" to speak about it.

HOW MEN CRY

was born.

“Cry” is not talking only about physical tears, it’s talking about all the different ways we “cry out” from unprocessed pain points and trauma. In other words drowning. To Thrive as men we believe we have to creatively connect with our mind, body, spirit, relationships, and nature. Swimming through the water is like finding fulfillment. Not a location, but a continuous effort that we reach with internal connection.

Our Philosophy

  • How Men Cry

Drowning or Struggling to Stay Afloat

Cry for us is not talking only about physical tears, it’s talking about all the different ways we “cry out” from unprocessed pain points and trauma. Sometimes we can’t find a lift raft, know where to look for one, and feel overwhelmed by the pressure of the water around us.

  • How Men Connect

    Learning to Swim

Men have to be given the space, time, and resources to connect the dots internally. We have to develop the skill set and soulset to balance and find clarity in mind, body, spirit, relationships, and nature.

  • How Men Thrive

    Swimming Skillfully

Moving through the water is like finding fulfillment. Not a location, but a continuous effort. Men thrive when in consistent rhythm of leading within the major categories of their lives. We may need to begin by floundering and facing our pain, but we end with the tools that tell us we can swim in any waters.

This isn’t a therapist's office.

It's an internal gym.
